Wish Me Luck’s founders Alex Ordonez and Sam Dameshek met on the set of a 2017 fashion campaign in Lake Tahoe and ultimately became best friends. While the two came from very different places, their coinciding dreams and akin struggles united them to create WISH ME LUCK.
Both Alex Ordonez and Sam Dameshek came from small towns where they faced harsh criticism for their creative ambitions. Alex grew up in Hartford, Connecticut with dreams to become a model and fashion designer. Despite the condemnation and isolation he experienced for his goals, Alex traveled three hours everyday after school to New York and began designing t-shirts and hoodies to pursue his dreams. Sam Dameshek grew up in California and started photography at the early age of fifteen. As his hobby blossomed to a career, his peers expressed doubt, judgement, and often hatred toward his ambitions. Regardless of the lack of support from their communities and the odds that seemingly stood against them, the co-founders of WISH ME LUCK chased their goals.
Fast forward to 2019, Alex and Sam combined their talents and resources to create WISH ME LUCK. Why the name WISH ME LUCK? Put quite simply, Sam and Alex wanted to represent and empower the ambitious youth that are taking risks. When the odds are stacked against you, you wish for luck. WML (Wish Me Luck) wants to uplift the kid that is bullied for chasing his or her dreams. WML wants to support the person searching for luck and a chance. Wish Me Luck is empowering individuals to create their own luck, regardless of what stands in their way. WML is where dreams come true.
